BIDV presents Tet gifts to poor people

The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) January 2 announced charitable program for the poor in Tet festive season.


As per the bank’s program “Gifts for poor people” on Tet festive holidays, the employees will contribute 68,000 gifts worth VND20.4 billion (US$ 967,583) to disadvantaged people in 63 cities and provinces in the country. Each gift costs VND300,000.


This is the sixth year BIDV has carried out the program. Gifts will be sent to poor people in distant, mountainous and disaster-hit regions, poor state-run employees, homeless elderly people and children.


Since 2009, the bank has allocated over 366,000 gifts worth more than VND100 billion in the program.
