The highlight of the project is 2.35 kilometer long Long Thanh Bridge which helps reduce the distance and the travelling time from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai Province and the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

The 55 km HCMC- Long Thanh, Dau Giay expressway project started in October 2009 and costs more than VND20,600 billion (US$978 million).

From January 3, the project management board will collect fee on the expressway.

Only trucks and passenger coaches below 10 tons are allowed to travel on the expressway for the first time and maximum speed of 100 km per hour.
