Nhan Dan – Vietnam earned eight more gold medals at the ongoing seventh ASEAN Para Games in Myanmar on January 17, solidifying its third position in the medal tally with 32 gold, 43 silver and 48 bronze.

The swimming team had a successful day of competition, contributing six gold, seven silver and seven bronze to Vietnam’s collection. Do Thanh Hai, Nguyen Thanh Trung, Trinh Thi Bich Nhu, Du Thi Lan and Le Tien Dat won gold in the 100-metre breaststroke events.


Track and field athlete Nguyen Thi Hai brought home one gold medal in the women’s F 57 – 58 discus throwing.


The last gold of the day went to weightlifter Chau Hoang Tuyet in the women’s 55 kg weight class while her peers, Nguyen Van Phuc and Nguyen Thanh Xuan, secured two silver medals in the men’s 59 kg and 65 kg events, respectively.
