PANO – General Phung Quang Thanh, Minister of National Defence, on March 21st received Mr. Milos Koterec, State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

The Slovak guest informed the general on outlines of his talks with Deputy Minister of National Defence Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh. The two sides agreed to give top priority to their cooperation on education and training, training, sharing experience in UN peacekeeping activities, and defence industry.
They also signed a letter of intent on bilateral defence cooperation.
For his par, General Phung Quang Thanh thanked Slovakia for its support in the national resistance war against foreign invaders and hoped that the two nations would heighten their cooperation, especially in defence industry, bomb and mine clearance, and education and training.
He added that the two sides should create more favorable conditions for their businesses to contribute to promoting the ties between the two countries in general and the two Ministries of National Defence in particular.
