PANO – The Thua Thien-Hue provincial Military Command on March 26th handed over the National Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister to family of Martyr Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan Ngai, Deputy Head of the Nam Dong district Command.
Previously, on April 22nd 2013, Ngai was assigned to lead a team to fight a forest fire at La Hy Pass in Huong Phu commune, Nam Dong district. While carrying out the task, he was suffocated by smoke.
Over the past 22 years in the army, he always overcame difficulties to fulfil all missions.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung decided to posthumously present Ngai the certificate.
At the presentation ceremony, leaders of the Thua Thien-Hue provincial Military Command and local authorities praised the officer’s brave sacrifice and urged local troops and people to follow his example.
The same day, they offered incense to Ngai and presented a gift to his family in Hamlet 9, Huong Hoa commune, Nam Dong district.
