PANO – A conference to review aviation cooperation between the Ministries of National Defence and Transport was held in Hanoi on March 26th.
At the meeting, the two ministers, General Phung Quang Thanh and Dinh La Thang, discussed and reached consensus on measures to beef up their cooperation on airspace management, air route structure, and control of aviation obstacles as stipulated in the 2006 Law on Civil Aviation of Vietnam and Decree No.20/2009/ND-CP by the Government.
Moreover, the two ministries will continue to study how to control civilian and military flights from the same air traffic control tower, improve flight safety, and allow civilian airlines to fly over military reserved airspace when not in action.
For his part, General Phung Quang Thanh hailed the two sides’ cooperation in this field over the past time, and added that they would jointly work on building and upgrading local airports for saving money and for efficient airport operations, making contribution to the national socio-economic development and national protection and construction cause.
