PANO – Various activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory have been organised nationwide.

* 10 war veterans, who had taken part in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign 60 years ago, shared touching stories about the unyieldingness of troops, who made the campaign a success, at an artistic exchange in Da Nang City on May 2nd.
Jointly organized by the Political Department of Military Zone 5, Vietnam Television’s Centre in Da Nang City and the city’s Association of War Veterans, the event attracted 500 youths from the military zone’s units, Air Defence Division 375, Air Force Division 372, Naval Region 3 and the city’s Border Guard Command.
* The same day, Ho Chi Minh City’s Fine Arts Museum introduced the book, entitled “Dien Bien Phu Golden History Page” with 300 pictures, sketches and articles of Artist, Colonel Pham Thanh Tam, former reporter of the Quyet Thang (Determine to Win) Newspaper of Brigade 351. The articles written during the Dien Bien Phu Campaign vividly reflect the developments of the campaign, daily lives and feeling of Dien Bien Phu troops.
The book will be officially released on May 7th.
