TOKYO (VNS) — Fierce images of the American War in Viet Nam taken by Japanese photographer Ishikawa Bunyo are on display at Salon Nikon, Ginza District, in Tokyo.

Titled 50 Years – War and Peace, the exhibition features 60 photos taken by the photographer in Viet Nam since the mid 1960s.

Ishikawa said through the photos of the war in Viet Nam, he would like to help Japanese people understand more clearly about the fierceness of the war.

“Not only the war in Viet Nam, but wars in other countries like Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria…, they all share the same feature of taking the lives of even women and children,” he said.

The exhibition will be run in Tokyo until June 3 before being moved to Osaka to be displayed between July 3 and 16. Then all of Ishikawa’s 150 photos of the war in Viet Nam will be handed to HMC City’s Museum of War Remnants to be displayed. — VNS
