NGOs donate nearly VND 60 billion in the first haft of 2014

​In the first six months of 2014, Quang Ngai province receives 29 programs and projects from Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) with the total donated value of nearly VND 60 billion, a double increase in comparison with same period last year, according to statistics from the PPC.



NGOs’ programs and projects mainly focus on clean water and environment sanitation, climate change and disaster risk, health, education, socio-economic development and other fields.


In 2013, Quang Ngai received donations from 20 NGOs and others organizations and individuals with total value of about VND 64 billion.


The long-term donors are Plan International with Socio-Economic Development project, World Vision (WVI) with Area Development Programs in mountainous district, East Meets West Foundation (EMW) with granting scholarships, Fred Hollow Foundation (FHF), Giving it back to Kids, Madision Quarker Inc, etc.


In 2014, Quang Ngai targets to mobilize VND 70 billion from NGOs with programs and projects focusing on agricultural and rural development; socio-economic development; vocational training; micro credit services; welfare for disabled people, Agent Orange victims, and orphans; healthcare; communal education; natural disaster prevention; climate change adaptation; clean water supply; and environmental sanitation.
