IT to be applied widely in army units

PANO – Lieutenant General Pham Xuan Hung, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army chaired a conference in Hanoi on July 29th on implementing information technology (IT) training in the 2014-2015 academic year.



In his speech, General Hung laid stress on the training of IT human resources and infrastructure and held that relevant organs, academies and schools need to ensure that its staff and cadets would understand the importance of IT application.


In fact, six military academies and officier training schools have piloted lectures on IT with improved contents of the IT application training and information security guarantee. Last September, a training course for 24 managers and teachers of IT from these schools was held.


Apart from training courses on IT, the IT Department under the General Staff has actively cooperated with the Department of School to develop IT and information security for units at tactical and operational levels. Schools have also compiled textbooks and supplied equipment serving IT study and teaching.


The conference specified coming missions, including improving effectively IT training in the army, adjusting IT application contents in connection with information security. Schools would concentrate on strengthening its personnel qualification, mobilizing forces to modernize IT infrastructure and teaching devices. Meanwhile, units would boost international cooperation and IT training connection with schools inside and outside the army in information security and electronic warfare.
