Repairs to the Asia America Gate Way undersea Internet cable is expected to be completed on July 30, restoring normal internet service to users.
AAG undersea optical cable to resume normal operation on July 30
FPT Group quoted Asia-America Gateway (AAG) sea cable management centre as saying that the centre is speeding up welding work on the damaged portion, located around 18 kilometres off the coast of southern Vung Tau City.
The first major repair work is to begin the morning of July 26, and the welding is expected to be completed around noon of July 27. The entire repair operation on the fiberoptic cable is scheduled for completion by 11am on July 30.
The damage to the AAG undersea cable occurred on the evening of July 15, causing disruptions to internet services in several regional countries, including Vietnam.
