The two countries will increase delegation exchanges at all levels and strengthen their cooperation in various areas of economy, national defense, construction, energy, education and training, and culture exchange.

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh conveyed Vietnamese leaders’ invitation to French President Francois Hollande to visit Vietnam. He urged France to advise the EU to promptly approve a framework agreement on Partnership and Cooperation with Vietnam (PCA) and conclude the Vietnam-EU free trade agreement (EUFTA) by 2014.

Minister Laurent Fabius voiced his hope that the two countries will co-ordinate closely in organising the 21st session of the UN Conference of the Parties on Climate Change, scheduled in Paris in 2015.

The two foreign ministers discussed international issues of mutual concern, including the East Sea situation. Minister Laurent Fabius expressed his support for a settlement of East Sea disputes through dialogues and peaceful measures without using force.
