The central Young Physician Association July 13 organized in partnership with Vietnam National Institute of Maritime Medicine to launch the program “Young doctors accompany fishermen” in the central province of Quang Nam.
The program is in response to the Ministry of Health’s support package “Health sector being companion of fishermen to cling to sea“, including providing healthcare and insurance cards to fishermen, supplying first aid training to anglers at sea and giving medicine cabinet and medical kits for emergencies to fishing boats offshore.
The Ministry’s support package is going to be launched in the central coastal provinces of Thanh Hoa, Da nang, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh and Khanh Hoa. The program will hand out 100 medicine cabinets and medical kit for emergencies to fishing vessels worth over VND200 million (US$9,446), distribute medical insurance cards and supply free examination and medications to 500 residents in Nui Thanh District of the central province of Quang Nam.
