PANO – More than 400 veterans under Engineering Regiment 98 (now Company 98, an affiliated unit of Truong Son Construction Corporation) met in Hanoi on August 9th to mark 50th anniversary of the groundbreaking ceremony of the Truong Son motorized road (August 9th).
They recalled their achievements, including the opening of nearly 3,000 kms of road for motorized use from 1964 to 1975, their shooting down 38 US aircraft, the arrest of hundreds of the enemy and the destruction of thousands of bombs and mines.
After the liberation of the South, the regiment held onto Truong Son to open roads for local economic-defence development.
Today’s Company 98 has always fulfilled outstandingly its assigned tasks of building and economic-defence development.
