The proportion was released at two meetings held by Vietnam Ophthalmological Society and the Central Eye Hospital in Hanoi on October 30 in Buon Ma Thuot Town of the highlands province of Dak Lak.

Around 15 to 40 percent of the country’s populations suffer refraction error, according to reports at the meetings. The rate of blind people accounts for 3.1 percent and more than 409,000 people aged over 50 is blind in both eyes.
