In the morning of September 4, in Hanoi, Biodiversity Conservation Agency (Vietnam Environment Administration) organized the workshop on mid-term evaluation of the project “Prevention and management of invasive forest species in production and protected forests of Southeast Asia” (FORIS project) – the project component in Vietnam.
The FORIS project has been undertaken for four years from 2012 to 2015 in Hanoi and Ninh Binh province.
From 2012 to June 2014, there are many activities of the project carried out. To illustrate, in 2012, the regional project was launched; the procedures for approval of the project at national level were conducted and the project came into the initial operation stage. In 2013, in addition to the monitoring and evaluation of projects, professional activities were promoted. In the first 6 months of 2014, the review and evaluation of the project’s main products has been focused and the activities of mid – term evaluation of the project have been enhanced.
The next plan is to strengthen the finalization of project’s products as required, organizing a seminar on lessons learned in implementing the project in Vietnam. At the same time, the project will continue to undertake training and capacity strengthening on procurement for the project officers, enhancing exchanges between the national project manager unit with the donors to unify the assessment and approval processes of the project.
