Deputy Defence Minister inspects the protection of border in Dac Nong

PANO – Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Thanh Cung, Deputy Minister of National Defence on November 12th worked with the party committee and command of the Dac Nong Provincial Border Guard force and check its implementation of protecting the border and preventing trans-border crimes.


Over the past years, the provincial border guard force has tried its best to manage and defend national sovereignty in border areas and build it into a stronger locality.

So far, 16 landmarkers have been planted on the 130km long borderline between the Cambodian localities and Dac Nong province.



Since the beginning of this year, the border guard has teamed with the local customs and police forces to bust cases of drug trafficking and illegal transportation of forest products.


General Cung asked the unit to follow closely the current developments in the locality and promptly advise local authorities in effectively fighting crimes along the borderline.


It was also requested to do better mass mobilization, build firm whole people border security posture and be prepared to deal with emerging problems at any circumstances as well as promote the friendly border and ensure national sovereignty and security.
