The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport on October 31 met with 20 experts for their advices on tackling flooding as per instruction by the city People’s Committee Deputy Chairman Nguyen Huu Tin.

At the meeting, the experts listened to an overall report on the city anti-flooding program. They will give opinions in writing to the department, who will synthesize the opinions and report to the city People’s Committee.
Several experts said that it was necessary to again assess and estimate projects which have been implemented in the city to tackle flooding, especially the city drainage plan by 2020.
Reports should go into specific matters with accurate parameters on rainfall, high tide, depression, released floodwater at reservoirs and urbanization so that they can propose suitable works, said the experts.
