Led a delegation of provincial leaders to the site of embankment project along Ve River on Nov. 20, Provincial People’s Committee’s vice chairman Pham Truong Tho urged all partners to kick off the construction progress as scheduled.
He asked the contractor to mobilize workers as well as machineries to site improving the delays.
The embankment is expected to reduce the problem of landslide along Ve River and to protect local residents from annual floods.
Reportedly, the project of building 360-m long embankment along the South side of Ve River in Duc Nhuan commune, Mo Duc district is an urgently-invested project approved by Provincial People’s Committee with a total capital of 10 billion VND.
The construction is directed to complete in 2014 to ensure safety for hundreds of families along the river.
Ve River is a large-scale river in the province, annually residents along the river usually deal with the serious problem of floods in rainy season. So the embankment is expected to not only reduce landslide but also play as a dyke to prevent flooding from the river.
