PANO – In celebration of the 70th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and the 25th whole people’s national defence festive day, agencies and units across the army have held various practical activities.
* On the morning of December 17th, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Logistics Department of Military Zone 7 unveiled a 40,000-ton quay at a cost of VND 143 billion. The structure was started on January 9th 2014 and completed just five days before the VPA’s 70th anniversary.
* The Chemical Officer Training School (Chemical Corps) on December 17th handed over a charity house to the family of Phung Van Nga, a policy family in Van An village, Dong Son commune, Son Tay town, Hanoi. The 82sq.m house was built at a cost of VND 85 million, including VND 70 million from the Chemical Officer Training School. The same day, the school presented gifts and provided free medical check-up and medications for Vietnamese heroic mother Phung Thi Tieu in Da B village, Son Dong commune, Son Tay town, Hanoi.
* Also on the evening of December 16th, Ho Chi Minh City Military Command, in association with the city’s Youth Union, held an art festival, themed “Forever the marching songs.” The three-day festival saw the participation of 15 teams from units, residential areas, schools, etc. Each team performed from 25 to 30 minutes praising President Ho Chi Minh, Communist Party of Vietnam, the glorious traditions of the Vietnam People’s Army, the beauty of Uncle Ho’s soldiers today, and so on.
