Army units hold activities celebrating 70 years of VPA

PANO – Units in the whole army on December 19th organized many activities in celebration of the 70th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and the 25th anniversary of the Whole-People Defence Festival.


The Command of Military Zone 2 held a get-together for leaders of the zone, Army Corps 29, Front 397, secretaries of party committees of provinces where the zone is stationed, and retired senior officers in the locality.


The delegates highly appreciated the zone’s good results over the past time and shared experiences, as well as contributed proposals to build a stronger unit.

* The Commands of Military Zones 4 and 9 met with generals and retired high-ranking officers in the localities. They informed the delegates about the zones’ achievements and expressed gratitude to their contributions in the national salvation, in the renewal process and the national construction and protection.


* Meanwhile, Da Nang City Military Command hosted an exchange titled “Deserving to be Uncle Ho’s soldiers”, in which young generations met and talked with historical witnesses in the anti-French and American resistance wars and heroes of the people’s armed forces.


* Ba Ria-Vung Tau province offered incense to fallen soldiers and presented gifts to policy beneficiaries, national contributors, armed forces in the locality.


* The University of Logistics upgraded the Martyrs’ Cemetery of Yen Do commune, Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province, and held an artistic exchange with locals.


* The Economy-Defence 778 Unit under Military Zone 7 presented 200 gifts to policy beneficiaries, village patriarchs, and poor ethnic minority people in Bu Gia Map district, Binh Phuoc province.


* The Vietnam Military Medical University hosted a youth gala highlighting the army and the school’s tradition as well as military-civilian ties.
