PANO – A fire occurred at about 14:00 on December 13th in the pine, acacia, and eucalyptus forest of Lap Dinh village Ngoc Thanh commune (Phuc Yen town, Vinh Phuc province).
Forest fire put under control.
Upon learning the situation, Brigade 113 (Commando Corps) promptly dispatched 100 officers and troops to the scene to join hands with the local authorities and people to put out the fire and save the forest.
Despite the complex terrain and the fire covering a wide area, the force actively localized the fire. At 17:00 of the same day, the fire was completely extinguished, saving more than 20ha of forest.
The fire had burnt five hectares of forest and the dry weather has initially been determined to be the cause.
