 Overview of the event (Photo: VNA) The Vietnamese Embassy and Military Attaché Office in Algeria organized a press conference on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam People’s Army and 25 years of the Whole People’s Defence Festival and provided information related to this event to local press on December 8th. At the event, Head of Vietnam’s Military Attaché Office in Algeria, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tran Tuan Anh reviewed the illustrious history of the Vietnam People’s Army over the past 70 years. He also affirmed over the 70 years of fighting, building and development, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese army has constantly strived, maintained and promoted the revolutionary nature of Uncle Ho’s soldiers; successfully completed the task entrusted by the Party, State and people; firmly protected the national independence, unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland to improve Vietnam’s position and strength in the regional and international arena. Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tran Tuan Anh also answered many questions from reporters about the role and position of the Vietnam People’s Army in the process of construction and development of the country and the defence relationship between Vietnam and Algeria. At the same time, he released that the Vietnam People’s Army and the Algerian People’s National Army have a close relationship and mutual trust. The two armies have made all-level visits to promote understanding, share experiences in building the army in each country and promote defense cooperation. Sharing with Algerian journalists, Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Vu The Hiep, emphasized that the Vietnam People’s Army was a new type of army, the army of the people, by the people and for the people. The Ambassador also affirmed that the Vietnam People’s Army was not only good in the military sector but also made many great and important contributions in the construction and development of the country today./. |
