General Department of Politics meets with Southern senior officers

PANO – The General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army on December 14th held a meeting between its incumbent leaders and former leaders and generals and commanders of units of different periods in the South in the buildup to its 70th anniversary of the traditional day.

At the event, Lieutenant General Luong Cuong, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics extended best wishes to the delegates and briefed them on the situations of the nation and army, the general department’s performance in 2014 and its major missions in the coming time. Over the past time, the unit has well carried out staff work, providing good advice to the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defence and instructed units across the army to well implement political and party work, making contributions to building the army with political strength. It has actively conducted various gratitude activities assisting localities and people.


Proud to have worked at organs of the General Department of Politics, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thai, former Director of the Department of Information and political Training said that both in wartime and peacetime, political officers of all generations have promoted the virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and fine traditions of the General Department of Politics to fulfil all assigned missions, contributing to protecting the Party, the Nation and people.


At the meeting, the delegates together recalled the valuable traditions of the Vietnam People’s Army and the General Department of Politics and enjoyed art performances in praise of the Party Uncle Ho and the heroic Vietnam People’s Army.
