PANO – The Vietnam Expressway Corporation said it will open for traffic a section of the expressway from An Phu to the intersection of Beltroad II under the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway project on January 10th. The section stretches 4 km, built under the construction packages 7, 8 and 9 in the area of Ho Chi Minh City.

Package 9, starting in April 2013, was completed in September 2014, six months ahead of schedule. Packages 7 and 8, starting in February 2013, have so far been completed, ready to be opened for traffic.
The section connects Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway to the East-West Highway, contributing to reducing traffic congestion at the gateways to Ho Chi Minh City.
