PANO – Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Minister of National Defence, on January 22nd visited the Military Zone 9 Command.
Last year, the zone effectively completed all assigned tasks, especially in promoting troops’ political thought, and well carrying out training and defence external relations activities.

Besides, the unit has worked out measures to maintain the watch in the coming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival and other major events of the country, prepare for the Party congresses at all levels, and consolidate the whole-people defence posture in combination with building strong defensive areas.
Highly appreciating its achievements over the past year, General Vinh stressed the strategic location of the zone in the Northwestern region and asked them to promote the revolutionary vigilance, enhance training and combat readiness quality, promptly make recommendations to local authorities to deal with any incidental problems, conduct defence external relations and people-to-people external affairs activities, and promote living standards of Vietnamese and Cambodian people living in the shared border areas.
The Deputy Defence Minister also paid visit to the Steering Board of the Northwestern region and the Military Commands and Border Guards Commands of provinces of Kien Giang, An Giang and Dong Thap.
