PANO – Sr. Lt. Gen. Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Minister of National Defence, on January 21st paid a working visit to the central province of Ha Tinh.
At the working session, the general was briefed on development on defence-security in the province and the achievements in implementing this mission with a focus on the political security and social order and safety in Vung Ang Economic Zone.
He was also informed of the locality’s economic growth of nearly 26 per cent in 2014 as well as its leading role in carrying out the national program on building new-style rural areas by the secretary of the provincial party committee Nguyen Thanh Binh.
General Do Ba Ty commended the province’s armed forces for their good results over the past time and asked them to further concentrate on carrying out the Party and the State’s resolutions and directions on defence-security, especially the resolution of the 8th session of the 11th Party Central Committee on the strategy of defending the fatherland in the new context, and well promote the joint cooperation between army-public security and border forces to timely deal with unexpected situations.
Earlier, the Chief of the General Staff inspected Vung Ang Economic Zone.
