PANO – Lieutenant General Tran Don, the commander of Military Zone 7 of the Vietnam People’s Army and General Prum Din, Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army and Commander of the Special Military Region of the Royal Cambodian Armed Force on January 22nd co-chaired the talks between the two military regions’ commands.
At the talks, the two sides exchanged issues of common concern as the well implementation of the protocol and cooperation plan for 2015 of the two countries’ defence ministries, of the policy on absolute cooperation and the preservation and consolidation of the traditional friendship between the two nations and two armies.
They also discussed the enhancement of their friendly cooperation activities and popularization work in armed forces and among people and informed each other ofthe development of their units over the past time and confirmed that the friendship between the two governments, the two armies and the two peoples has been developing.
Notably, they agreed on cooperation contents as information and cultural exchange, exchanges of delegations, twinning activities, training, support in trade development, medicines, humanitarian aid, searching, gathering and repatriating remains of Vietnamese volunteer troops who had sacrificed serving the international obligation in Cambodia. They also reached agreement on creating favourable conditions for Vietnamese community in Cambodia and Cambodian community in Vietnam.
Both Lieutenant General Tran Don and General Prum Din hoped that the two sides would cooperate effectively in all fields to contribute to their long-term friendship in particular and the two countries’ friendship in general.
