Viet Nam’s No 1 tennis player Ly Hoang Nam will be part of the team that will compete in the 2015 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group III matches in April.
This was announced by Nguyen Quoc Ky, vice chairman and general secretary of the Viet Nam Tennis Federation (VTF).
Eight teams will compete in this group, including Cambodia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Qatar and Viet Nam.
Ky added that Nam will also be a key player of the national team that will compete in the 28th Southeast Asian Games in June in Singapore, as the VTF has withdrawn Nam’s ban from all competition from December 31 last year.
Eighteen-year-old Nam has moved up 28 spots to 42nd in the International Tennis Federation’s latest junior ranking.
