Rose Gottemoeller, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, will visit Vietnam from March 1 to 3, part of her overseas trip that also covers three other countries from February 27 to March 9.

The information was released by the U.S. Department of State in its media note published on its website on February 25.
Accordingly, Under Secretary Gottemoeller will travel to the northern Vietnamese province of Quang Tri on March 1 and 2 to observe U.S.-funded efforts to survey and clear Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) of war.
She will also meet with provincial authorities as well as non-governmental organizations.
On March 3, she will have talks with her Vietnamese counterparts in Hanoi to discuss the U.S.-Vietnam bilateral relationship during the 20th anniversary of the normalization of relations, as well as regional security, security cooperation, maritime security, and the upcoming Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty Review Conference (NPT RevCon).
During her visit to the Philippines from February 27 to March 1, the under secretary is slated to discuss regional security, bilateral security cooperation, maritime security, and the NPT RevCon with senior Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs and Department of National Defense officials.
During two days March 4 and 5, Under Secretary Gottemoeller will discuss U.S.-Australia defense cooperation, regional security, and other international security issues with her counterparts from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Department of Defense in Canberra.
She will also call on the University of Sydney on March 6, where she will deliver remarks on “The Role of the United States in Asia-Pacific Security.”
On March 9, Under Secretary Gottemoeller will wrap up her overseas trip by meeting with Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Ministry of Defense officials in Wellington, New Zealand to discuss international security issues.
