 Tran Hoat Toan and the exhibits (Photo: VNA) The Quang Ninh police and the Police Department for Investigation of Drug-related Crimes under the Ministry of Public Security arrested Tran Hoat Toan, 48, living in China’s Guangxi for illegally transporting of 20kg of crystal methamphetamine to Hai Dong commune, Mong Cai city on March 3rd. When checking, the authorities discovered that Toan had concealed a brown travel bag under a taxi’s floor board containing 15 white nylon bags with a total of 20kg of crystal methamphetamine. Toan confessed that on February 26th he met a Chinese man named A Si in China’s Dongxing who hired Toan to transport five bags of drug from Dongxing to Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province to give to A Si’s customer for a payment of CNY10,000. At 6pm of March 2nd, A Si gave Toan the brown travel bag containing the above drugs. After receiving the drugs, Toan threw the bag over the fence to a boatman named Hung to transport to Mong Cai city. At 9pm of March 3rd, Toan went to a café in Mong Cai city to meet Hung to get the drugs to give to A Si’s customer named Binh. The case is under further investigation./. |
