PANO – Deputies participating in the 12th plenary session of the National Assembly Committee for National Defence and Security on September 21st in Hanoi agreed on a need to revise the Law on Vietnam People’s Army Officers.
The Minister of National Defence General Phung Quang Thanh presented a governmental statement on the Amendment Draft of the Law. Accordingly, after 5 years of implementing the law, the current amended Law on Vietnam People’s Army Officers is said to be suitable and create a legal foundation to improve the quality of the officer, meeting the requirements of national construction and protection in the new context. However, the law has revealed some limitations and obstacles to the enforcement.
The permanent representative of the National Assembly Committee for National Defence and Security and some committee’s members highly spoke of the amendment draft and made some recommendations to help improve the draft for submission to the National Assembly at the new session.
