(CPV) - The Hanoi New Music Festival 2013 titled “The Blind Spot” will celebrate its premiere in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city from November 30 to December 8.
It is the first time ever an experimental music festival will be held in Vietnam, establishing this brand-new showcase event on the annual festival agenda.
More than 50 extraordinary international and national musicians from the UK, Germany, Italy, France, and Scandinavian countries, will perform on over seven stages showing their skills to the public.
The Hanoi New Music Festival presents five newly commissioned compositions by local musicians, artist and renowned musicians, improvisers and groups.
The event will create chance for audiences to see the excellent interactive music productions, improvisations, music installations and music theatre in the city of Hanoi. In addition to the presentation of electro-acoustic music, a range of contemporary chamber music is an integral component of the festival.
The festival’s vast experimental music shows are supplemented by an extensive cultural programme of performances and screenings.
The event aims not only to change the ‘invisibility’ of contemporary music in the local scene, filling the gaps in knowledge, but also to generate synergetic effects to strengthen musical infrastructures between Vietnam and the worldwide contemporary music scene./.
