Politburo Issues Directive on Major Holidays in 2014-2015

The Politburo of Vietnam issued the Directive 31-CT/TW dated December 25, 2013 on the organisation of celebrating major holidays in 2014 and 2015. The directive underlined the focus on propaganda and education of major holidays and historical events of the country. Inspiring and educating patriotism, national pride, revolutionary tradition, great national unity spirit, national construction and protection is an important task. The guidance affirms Vietnam’s great achievements attained in the struggle for national liberation and national construction and protection, inherits, employs and promotes lessons experienced and learned from the August Revolution and struggles against invaders for national liberation and homeland defence to acceleration of the industrialisation, modernisation, and active integration. Besides, celebration scales are based on historical significance of each event. Vietnam will continue to renovate contents and forms of commemorative activities to build up the trust in the Party leadership, national pride and creativity of Vietnamese people. Thanking events are widely organised, including publication, literature, arts, sports, exhibitions, traditional meetings and tourism marketing.
