Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ngai Party Committee Tran Van Minh on April 24th had a meeting with Ba To District Party Standing Committee on the socio-economic situation, internal affairs in 2013 and key tasks in 2014.
As reported at the meeting, in 2013, total budget revenues of the district reached over 21 billion VND while the total production value hit nearly 604 billion VND. The total investment in social development in the district was 130 billion VND, the poverty rate dropped to 32.96 percent.
The fight against corruption, inspection and settlement of complaints and denunciations of citizens were implemented in accordance with the regulations of law. In 2013, the district received 256 letters of complaints and denunciations. 221 of them were completely settled.
Speaking the meeting, Minh acknowledged the results and efforts done by Ba To district. However, the poverty rate in the district – 32.96 – is still high. The next time, therefore, Minh urged the district to synchronously make solutions to hunger sustainable poverty reduction; help local people develop production and generate incomes.
In addition, he also asked the district to better implement the inspection, settlement of letters of complaints and denunciations and the fight against corruption, contributing to maintaining security and politics in the locality.
