Phu Yen Department of Education and Training has sent an urgent dispatch to the Divisions of Education and Training, high schools, secondary schools on considering scholarships to children of fishermen clinging to sea and fishing offshore.

Accordingly, the province has 100 scholarships, each worth VND 1 million; in particular, 20 scholarships for each of the divisions of education and training in the districts of Dong Hoa, Tuy An, Song Cau town and Tuy Hoa city; 1 or 2 scholarships for each of high schools, secondary schools in the above localities.
Cases being considered for receiving scholarships are elementary schools’, secondary schools’ and high schools’ students with the conditions of at least average academic competence in the 2013-2014 school year; parents, siblings (living in the same household) of fishermen clinging to sea, fishing offshore, especially, priority is given to fishermen in the area of Hoang Sa, Truong Sa islands with difficult family situations or being at high risk of dropping out of school.
