Many blind people trained in music

The trainees were trained to improve basic techniques of vocal music, musical instrument playing skills, orchestral music arrangement techniques, etc.


The Hai Duong provincial Blind Association on the afternoon of June 13 summed up the project “Advanced training and assistance in practice of musical career for blind people“.


The project was started in 2011 and funded by Maryknoll organization (the US). Participating in the project were 16 direct trainees and two classes of observers.


The trainees were trained to improve basic techniques of vocal music, musical instrument playing skills, and techniques of orchestral music arrangement and performance on stages to perfect a piece of music.



During the learning period, the trainees made 37 actual performance trips at agencies, units, schools, etc. Some earned high rankings at art festivals held at local and central levels. Trainees Dao Thi Thuy and Van Tuan Anh won silver medals at the first National Art Festival for Disabled Children in 2013. Van Tuan Anh also grabbed a silver medal at the contest of children playing folk music and singing folk songs held by Radio the Voice of Vietnam in 2014, etc.


At the end of the course, the trainees were qualified to join art troupes of people with disabilities or act as the core of the masses’ art movements in localities.
