Hai Duong provincial leaders on July 24 visited and presented gifts to typical policy families on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 – 2014).
Mr. Bui Thanh Quyen, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, Head of the provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, visited and presented gifts to typical policy families in Minh Tan commune (Nam Sach), including Vuong Van The, a 3/4 wounded anti-American soldier in Uong Thuong hamlet, Nguyen Van Phac, a 3/4 wounded anti-French soldier in Uong Ha hamlet, and Dang Thi Diem, a martyr’s wife in Hung Thang hamlet.
Mr. Vu Van Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, visited and presented gifts to Nguyen Thuc Hua, a 4/4 wounded anti-French soldier in Cay hamlet, Nguyen Thi Sau, a martyr’s wife in Lua hamlet, and Nguyen Thi Tu, a martyr’s wife in Do hamlet, Doan Thuong commune (Gia Loc).
Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, visited and presented gifts to Nguyen Ngoc Khan, a 4/4 wounded soldier in Tay An area, Dong Ky commune; Nguyen Trung Cong, father of two martyrs in Nhan Ly hamlet, Tay Ky commune; and Bui Tiet Kiem, a 2/3 sick soldier in Vuc village, Tu Xuyen commune, Tu Ky district.
Earlier, Mr. Le Thanh Van, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, on the afternoon of July 23 visited and presented gifts to typical policy families in Binh Giang district, including Dang Dinh Di, a martyr’s father in Vinh Lai hamlet, Vinh Tuy commune; Pham Dinh Nghiem, a 4/4 wounded soldier in Tuan hamlet, Hung Thang commune; and Ngo Duc Dien, a 4/4 wounded soldier in Ly Duong hamlet, Vinh Hong commune.
At the visited places, the provincial leaders graciously asked after the policy families’ health and life and acknowledged their enormous contributions in the resistance wars as well as in the construction of the native land.
The provincial leaders also encouraged the families to bring into play the tradition, continue well observing the Party’s guidelines, policies and the State’s laws, participate in contributing, building a strong and prosperous native land, be examples and moral supports for descendants to follow; and simultaneously asked Party committees and local authorities to care more for policy families and people with merits.
* Phu Quoc ex-prisoners in Hai Duong met on the morning of July 24 on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day. Mr. Le Thanh Van, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, attended the event.
This was the third meeting held by the Liaison Board of Phu Quoc ex-prisoners in Hai Duong.
Apart from 144 Phu Quoc ex-prisoners in Hai Duong, there were representatives of Phu Quoc ex-prisoners from Ha Nam, Thai Binh, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Bac Ninh, Ha Noi, Phu Yen, Gia Lai, etc.
The ex-prisoners recalled memories about the time being shackled in Phu Quoc prison and commemorated the fallen comrades. They also encouraged each other to keep the faith of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Thanh Van appreciated Phu Quoc ex-prisoners’ contributions and affirmed that the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee always pay attention to offsetting the disadvantages of ex-prisoners of war.
He hoped that the Liaison Board would maintain more frequent meetings, contributing to bringing into play the glorious tradition of Phu Quoc ex-prisoners.
