PANO – The “determined to die” traditional liaison committee of heroic Capital Regiment on July 27th offered incense and held a solemn requiem for heroes and martyrs at the war memorial “Determined to die for national salvation” at the Van Xuan flower garden in Hanoi.
They also recalled the year of 1946 when Hanoi people and troops joined hands in kick-start the resistance war against French colonists and the founding of the heroic Capital Regiment which fought to protect the capital city.
The same day, Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony to bestow posthumously the title of heroic Vietnamese mother to 47 mothers in districts of Thu Duc, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan and precinct 2.
Earlier, on July 26th, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Thanh Hai presented gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers Nguyen Thi Viet and Nguyen Thi Binh in precincts 1 and 3, respectively and offered incense to mother Bui Thi Me at her house in precinct 3. Hai expressed gratitude to the mothers’ great contributions to national salvation, construction and development.
General Tran Dai Quang, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, inquired after invalids and sick soldiers under treatment at Hospital August 19. He wished them recovery to soon resume their work, contributing to ensuring social order.
Meanwhile, the General Department of Techniques held a meeting with 194 personnel who are wounded soldiers and relatives of martyrs.
Military Hospital 109 of Military Zone 2 gave free health checkups and medicines to over 150 people rendering good services for the nation in Hien Da commune, Cam Khe district, Phu Tho province.
The organizer of the program “Color of Red Flowers” on July 26th announced more than VND 1 billion was contributed to support people rendering good services for the nation. The organizer presented nearly 900 gifts, 28 cattle and many saving books to needy policy families nationwide. At the announcement ceremony, they handed over 25 saving books to invalids, sick soldiers and heroic Vietnamese mothers. Besides, Ruby Co. Ltd presented 21 saving books to relatives of 19 troops died in the recent military helicopter (Mi-171) crash and 2 injured ones.
