MZ 5′s troops help fight forest fire

PANO – 300 cadres and soldiers from Military Zone (MZ) 5′s Air-defence Brigade 573, and Binh Dinh provincial Military Command, and nearly 200 militiamen from Quy Nhon city on August 9th teamed up with local fire fighters to extinguish a fire on Ba Hoa mount in Dong Da ward, Quy Nhon city.

Due to a rough terrain and dry brushes, it took the joint force about 20 hours to extinguish the fire.



The blaze started on 9.00am on August 9th at the Hoc Ba Bep cemetery and then spread to the forest. Approximately 20ha of eucalyptus and pine forest were burned.


Since the early 2014, Brigade 573′s troops have participated in extinguishing dozen of blazes in the locality.
