PANO – 700 people in Vu Lang, Tan Huong and Tan Lap communes of Bac Son district, Lang Son province have been given free health check-ups and medicines by a delegation from organs of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army during the two-day program, “Army joins hands for community’s health“.
The delegation handed over medical equipment to the three communal health stations and gifts to policy beneficiaries and provided local people with basic knowledge to prevent HIV/AIDS and bird flu.
The activities were to pay gratitude to people in historical land for their great contributions to the Dien Bien Phu Victory which contributed to restoring peace in Indochina as well as strengthen the relations between local people and troops.
On August 16th, Military Hospital 87 of the Vietnam People’s Navy in association with Khanh Hoa provincial Border Guard Command and a branch of military-run telecom group, Viettel, in the province conducted similar activities for people on Binh Ba Island, Cam Binh commune, Cam Ranh city.
An artistic exchange for youths on the islands to consolidate the army-civilian unity was also organized on this occasion.
