The PM made that statement at his working session with the MIT on October 2.
He urged the ministry to fulfill missions and tasks set for 2014, including achieving an Industrial Production Index (IPI) growth rate of 7-7.2% and increasing foreign reserves.
PM Dung asked the MIT to make the market economy more competitive, transparent and equal.
The ministry is proposed to focus on promoting production, attracting investment and guaranteeing balances of the economy as well as enhancing productivity, high technology and competitiveness.
PM Dung required the ministry to accelerate the campaign “Vietnamese gives priority to use Vietnamese goods”, take advantages of opportunities from the Free Trade Agreements and enhance the administrative procedure reform.
Over the past nine months of the year, the IPI growth rate increased 6.7%; exports reached more than US$109 billion, up 14.2% and total retail sales of consumer goods and services up 11.12%.
