Deputy Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hong presents prizes to winners
PANO – A ceremony to honor and award “The most favourite Vietnamese trademarks in 2014″ for 28 businesses in tourism, services, trade and production took place on January 20th in Ho Chi Minh City by the Saigon Giai Phong (Saigon Liberation) Newspaper.
The event, the ninth of its kind, aims to encourage businesses to build up prestigious, high-quality Vietnamese trademarks and to build a consumption culture among Vietnamese people.
The best 28 businesses were named after a study on consumption trends in 2014 with the participation of more than 1,200 consumers. In terms of tourism, 67.4 per cent of the consumers said that they always learn about and compare prices and tours before booking a tour. 82.2 per cent of them pay much attention to promotion, while 74.6 per cent show their interest in prestigious businesses.
Notably, Sa Pa, Ha Long Bay, Hanoi, Hoi An, and Trang An are their most alluring destinations.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong hailed Vietnamese businesses for their active contributions over the past year to the city’s socio-economic development and social benefits. She also emphasized the campaign “Vietnamese use made-in-Vietnam products” which was launched over 5 years ago, resulting in the use of domestic products among Vietnamese people and a positive change in shopping habit of city dwellers.
