A press conference of the 132nd assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-132) yesterday was held at My Dinh National Conference Center in Ha Noi.

Becoming the host- country for the 132nd assembly of the union is an important turning point in the history of Vietnam’s foreign affair policies since the country became an official member of the IPU over 35 years ago, stressed Chairman of Vietnam National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung at the press conference.
Since being official member of IPU, Vietnam National Assembly has actively joined in as well as contributed to activities of the forum. Hosting the 132nd assembly of IPU is not only large pride of the National Assembly and Vietnamese people, but also a favorable opportunity for the people and the National Assembly of Vietnam to express their friendship, solidarity and cooperation with parliamentarians and people from all continents in the world.
More than 160 international delegations from IPU member parliaments, observers, associate members and international guests will participate in IPU 132 on April, added Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.
At present, Vietnam National Assembly has almost finished preparation of goods about content, information propaganda, security, health, and logistics for IPU- 132. Vietnam is ready for IPU 132 and pledges to ensure success for the important parliamentary diplomatic event.
Answering questions from representative reporters, IPU President Saber Chowdhury and Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Martin Chungong appreciated Vietnam National Assembly’s good preparation for IPU- 132 in the previous times.
