PANO – Promptly giving first aid and then taking a faint girl to a hospital, Senior Lieutenant Tran Thanh Hoang has recently saved the girl who severely fell sick.

Hoang, an officer of Company 6 of Battalion 26 of Military Zone 3’s Brigade 603, was at office when he was informed of the case. Without hesitation, he and another soldier rushed to the scene where the girl was reported falling down on the road to Giai Oan Pagoda in Quang Ninh province.

In Uong Bi city-located Vietnam-Sweden Friendship Hospital, the patient, named Nguyen Thi Hoa, born in 1994 in Dong Anh, Hanoi, was treated wholeheartedly.

According to nurse Vuong Mai Phuong who gave treatment to Hoa, she was hospitalized at the state of unconsciousness, low blood pressure and weak pulse. Though the case was not complicated, she might suffer myocardial infarction, threatening her life if the soldier failed to give her timely first aid.

It was not the first time officer Hoang saved people in distress. In late 2011, he and his comrades rescued a tourist falling down in an abyss near Dong Pagoda. His good deeds were highly appreciated by the unit’s leaders and local authorities.

At work, Hoang, a native of Ly Nhan district, Ha Nam province, is always trying his best to fulfil assigned tasks. He is a bright example for his comrades to follow.
